This home-stay program has been developed for triple purposes.

First it gives you the opportunity to experience the Thai culture in an authentic and inexpensive way. You can either engage in cultural exchange with your host family by sharing and teaching each other about your way of life, culture and traditions.

You can also live and work within the Mahout village to learn about their way of life, working with Elephants, teach English and learn about farming and agriculture.

Secondly, you also have the opportunity to experience a different side of Thailand, a more spiritual side, by staying at a Temple. Here you will learn about the history of Thailand and gain a better understanding of its culture.

Thirdly, the local people benefit from these Homestay programs as their children are being taught English, which gives them good opportunities for future jobs. Besides that, they can use your help with farming and general household activities.
